Luncheon Meeting
Surviving PKD - Valen's Inspirational Story
We welcomed Valen Cover who shared with us her authentic life story of hope and
healing as she fought against the ravages of serious illnesses and disease, teetering
on the brink of death more than once, only to become a ray of light to all who
know her. She is the subject of a recent book titled "My Favorite American".

Overcoming Resistance to Change
Barbara Schreiber, formerly of the Idea Zoo, spoke to us about welcoming change
and overcoming our natural resistance to it. She shared her own personal experiences and how she has managed to overcome change
and why it is important in our lives to do so. She spoke about how we can approach a new idea, what to say, and how working
together can allow you to get the results you want.

We invited Clarence Watson from the

Center to this meeting to talk about laughing for your health. He provided an interactive program where he spoke about how laughter is the best
medicine and really can improve your quality of life.

Wearing All Hats with Style - Achieving Balance in our Lives
Jody Newcomer, a self-described "confidence coach" and adjunct communications
instructor at
York
College, joined us for an interactive program which taught us how having the right BFA’s
(beliefs, focus, attitude) impacts business success. She showed us how we can
“wear all of our hats with style” in life and still achieve balance in everything
we do.
